PVS Logo

How much notice do I need to give to schedule?

Please allow 24 to 48 hours for scheduling. We do not provide emergency services. If you require emergency assistance or euthanasia, please contact your veterinarian or the Emergency Veterinary Clinic at 325- 691-1504.

How much will this cost?

The cost will depend on your pet, your location and the services chosen. Please see the Services Page.

How long will the appointment take?

Most visits take 30 to 60 minutes.

Do I need to be present for the entire visit?

This is a personal decision. You may be present for as much or as little as you would prefer. Some people prefer to only be present during the sedation process. Other people prefer to be present for the entire visit.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for the visit?

  • We recommend developing an End of Life Plan for the visit. Please look on our Resources page for information on planning this visit.

  • A quiet, peaceful environment free of distractions is best. You may want candles, soft music and/or your pets favorite things around them.

  • For pets over 40 pounds, you will need to provide assistance in moving your pet to Dr. Lewis’ vehicle.

Will you be notifying my pets regular clinic of my pet’s passing?

We will let your veterinarian know about your pets passing so you do not have to make that phone call.

Who can I talk to about my grief?

We understand how absolutely difficult this time can be. Please look on our Resources page for information on different options for assistance with your grief.
